My Hong Kong Multi-Destination Trip In A Nutshell!

I was invited by Hong Kong Tourism for a multi-destination media trip in May. It was my first time in Hong Kong and definitely first time moving to multiple places from Hong Kong. I guess it does show how easy it is to visit other places from Hong Kong should you ever plan to.

Took me forever to edit and get these videos up but since I love being able to watch back my travel videos and places that I've seen, all that sleepless nights was worth it!

Big thanks to Hong Kong tourism and Macao Tourism for their hospitality! <3 p="">

Rosy Cheeks Bird Nest's Hydrating Mask Review

Does it really give me 72 hours hydration? How do you even measure that? I really don't know.

What I know is how I feel about the mask. I can see how dry skin peeps will love this as it is one of those mask that leaves a super sticky residue. Good news is that the sticky feeling does go away after a few minutes, leaving the skin feeling thoroughly hydrated from the inside. After using this mask, I didn't have the need to put on a moisturiser to complete my skincare routine.

After 3 days, even with a flu that makes me rub my nose 3000 times a day, my skin felt fine, not overly dry but of course with the daily cleansing, I reach out for my regular skincare to moisturise my skin. In no way this is a product that you can use once and never needing to use a moisturiser for the next 3 days but I guess it does help in keeping your skin feeling less dry on normal days.

Overall, I do like this sheet mask. It's thin, sticks on skin well, truly hydrates my skin, and freaking feels like it firms my face. Thumbs up from me!

Check out Rosy Cheeks Instagram here.

NOVU Active Purifying Facial Scrub Review

I've never really recommend anyone to scrub their face more than two or three times a week. But I think I've found one that's gentle enough to be used daily, especially for people with oily and normal skin type. This NOVU Active Purifying Scrub is truly a super gentle scrub that's in my current favourites.

Beauty Maker Brow Manicure Review

Quite unfortunate really. I wanted to like this because I was in the hunt of a new eyebrow mascara to help keep my unruly brow hairs in place. Though, it's not completely unusable, you just need to learn how to use this brow mascara. Check out my video review to find out more and you'll understand why I personally don't like this.

Even after listening to what I've said and you are still interested to try this out. Feel free to use my code for a discount when purchasing this before 9th May 2019.

Etiqa's New Medical Plan Starts From Only RM1.74 Per Day!

Guilty as charged. I was one of those who didn't care about insurance when I was younger because like most millennials, I was too busy living my life and working so I can earn enough money to live my life. Who has time to care about paying for insurance, right? Especially when we are not able to see the returns immediately or ever.

I'm grateful that my mom took care of everything when I was younger and ignorant towards medical insurance. As a freelancer, I don't have any company medical benefits to fall back to, it's all on me. It was only recently, when I took over and had to pay for my own insurance that I truly started to care about what I was paying for. Every month, forking out RM200 is not a small sum of money for someone like me! How do other people of my age or younger do it?

x
After doing some research, according to ‘Malaysia Insurance Sector Report 2017/2018’, it seems that the insurance penetration in Malaysia is pretty low, between 40% and 50%, as compared to other developing countries. Our government is hoping to achieve an insurance penetration of 75% by 2020 due to the fact of the increase of medical cost yearly. In 2016, it has been reported that healthcare inflation stood at 11.5% in Malaysia. Imagine how much more will it increase by 2020?

The worst part was to see stats on the amount of people who suffered due to the inability to pay for the necessary medical treatments while many others went bankrupt trying to pay for their medical bills. iMoney Malaysia mentioned in an article that out of 8,321 debt cases solved by Credit Counseling and Debt Management Agency (AKPK) in 2015, 14.3% was due to high medical cost. That’s crazy! All thanks to illnesses that we never thought will happen to us or just too busy to even think about it.

It's really sad to hear such cases but what can you do when you really can't afford insurance? This is where I'm happy to hear that Etiqa is moving towards making it affordable for the people. Their two new plans are truly unique!

Let's start in the one that I'm truly interested in. The Etiqa's e-Medical Pass Insurance, an affordable medical insurance with no lifetime limit. You can get covered starting from as little as RM1.74 per day, that’s around RM55.85 per month or 634.68 per year. THAT'S SO AFFORDABLE! Click here: www.eti.qa/health

Also, what I love about this e-Medical Pass is that they made it super easy for us to not only sign up but also access when needed. It's all online by just filling in a simple form. No agent fee and no medical check up required for approval. Plus, no hassle of needing to bring along your medical card when you check into a hospital, just provide your IC.

The other new plan is the e-CancerCare Insurance, a protection plan with cash payouts to combat cancer. We all know how unforgiving cancer can be and sometimes when it hits, we probably wouldn't even know about it until it gets serious. When that happens, where are we going to get the lump sum of money to pay for those immediate treatments?

With e-CancerCare, you can get early cash payout for early stage cancers or a lump sum of 150% of the insured amount paid directly to you upon diagnosis of advanced cancer, all from as little as 21 sen a day! Similarly, there's no agent fee, no medical check up required for approval, and it's all online!

Both are truly amazing plans that gives you coverage at a really low price. So which one should you get? In my opinion, I would prioritise the e-Medical Pass as it covers a wider range of illnesses. If you could, try paying a little more to get the Platinum plan as you may think that the Silver plan coverage is good enough for the price of medical fee now but don't forget that the cost of treatments increases as the years goes by, thus, think ahead and get a plan with more coverage if you can afford it.

As for the e-CancerCare, I'd recommend it if you have a little extra every month. Other than trying to prevent cancer by living a healthy daily lifestyle, it's always good to protect yourself with such insurance plan to avoid potential financial crisis.

The new e-Medical Pass and e-CancerCare both comes in Insurance and Takaful version and available for Malaysians between 18 and 55 years old (age next birthday). Of course, the younger you are, the cheaper your plan will be. So, don't wait anymore. Check out www.etiqa.com.my for more information on the details and rates now!

Things You Need To Know Before Switching To An Organic Dandruff Shampoo \\ JQLeeJQ

From commercial to natural and organic shampoo, it's not as enjoyable as you think. There is a transition period, might be worst for people with dandruff. Here's my real life testimony.

Althea Waterful Green Bamboo Pads & Skin Relief Calming Cream First Impressions!

Althea came up with 2 new products for the summer!

They are the Althea Waterful Green Bamboo Pads (80EA, RM54.00) and the Althea Skin Relief Calming Cream (80ml, RM44.00). Both absolutely wonderful products for dry skin. The pads are ultra refreshing and perfect for the summer while the cream feels lightweight on the palms but truly moisturise the skin really well, also as well as a thick cream. Thus, a little goes a long way.

I won't say much here as it's best to check out my video review below for more visuals!

I Tried Karen Murell Natural Lipstick! Swatches & First Impression \\ JQLeeJQ

Karen Murell lipsticks are made in Australia and they claim to use natural ingredients such as avocado oil, evening primrose oil, candelilla, carnauba wax, cinnamon and sweet orange. These lipsticks are known safe for pregnant women as they use fully natural and quality FDA approved safe ingredients including beeswax in the lip colours. All packaging is biodegradable and recyclable. Finally, they are cruelty free.

So much good stuff ain't it. I love that there are so many brands out there are coming out with natural products because there is a demand for it in this era. They have tons of wearable colours available in Guardian and smell strongly like cinnamon as it is one of the main ingredient in there.

I'm not the biggest fan of the smell but that aside, it's a moisturising classic type of lipstick. They have nice colours but somehow the ones I got have a little bit of a patchiness issue. It doesn't give a full opaque smooth colour on my lips, some times I get some bald spots. I don't know about the darker colours as I didn't had the chance to try all shades on my lips. Swatching on the back of my hands during the event was fine.

Other than that, the packing is pretty and balms is wonderful too if you enjoy cinnamon scent :) I believe it's only available in selected Guardian at the moment.

Garnier Micellar Oil-Infused Cleansing Water Review!

Everybody, this is life changing! If you are in a love-hate relationship with micellar water like me, you need to try this. It's similar but makes so much of difference. Personally, I love how refreshing it is when I use micellar water but a lot of time, micellar water alone doesn't cut it as they are not great at removing waterproof makeup.

So when I received this Garnier Micellar Oil-Infused Cleansing Water, I knew it would be amazing or more like, I want it to be amazing. Thankfully, it is. However, it is not a one swipe thing.

It's not hard to remove my waterproof mascara and liquid lipsticks. Those are the two main makeup that I feel is extremely tough. I think the best part is that it's not oily if you shake it extremely well before squeezing them out of the bottle. In fact, the argan oil actually helps to also moisturise the skin. Thus, the micellar water actually refreshes and moisturise at the same time. Dry skin peeps definitely will enjoy this version way more than any old-school micellar water.

I don't enjoy using their pink version but this, this is good.

Nunature Anti-Dandruff & Anti-Hair Fall Shampoo Review

I've received these shampoos and conditioner a couple months back and now, finally typing my thoughts about the products as I wanted to at least try them enough and not just once. I want to see if they really makes a difference since they are made for dandruff and hair fall concerns.

On their website, they do claim to be a natural range with precious botanical ingredients. They market themselves as having formulas that are rich in natural active ingredients with the latest trend in cell regenerative and anti-aging actives known as Indian Kino Tree Extract, thus an anti-aging solution shampoo.  It is the key ingredient to all of its products and all their shampoos are free from paraben, SLS, and SLES.

So, now that we know a little bit of their brand, let's start with these two 250ml bottles.

You Sure About PicoSure Laser? Read This First.

Also known as PicoPlus Laser or Pico Second Laser, it's said to be the latest laser trend in the industry. They say it'll help with rejuvenation, toning, and many more.

Before I go on, this write up is based on my experience and opinion. I'm not hating or trying to defame any party. I wouldn't say that I had a bad experience but I think it's more about managing expectations. I wasn't sure if I was going to write about this but I thought it would be good to share my experience so those who are interested will be more prepared before going for the treatment.

I was invited by Revival Clinic in Kota Kemuning for a review of their new pride Pico Laser device. Through the text (as below), I was given a brief info about the treatment. Of course, all the good stuff.

Annie's Way Jelly Mask Is Weirdly Awesome (Review)

There's something satisfying about applying jelly on your face. As weird as it sounds, it was pretty soothing watching myself scraping that gel off my face. Washing off was quite a workout though.

I've heard about Annie's Way Jelly Mask before a few times. Seen them on Beauty expo a couple years back, never really tickle my fancy. Only now finally got to try them because it was highly recommended, they told me it was really, really good. And yes, I strongly agree.

Before we go any deeper, check out my video first impressions below for a better look at the product. p/s: a bonus video of My Husband Tries This Jelly Mask further down this blogpost.

Suntegrity Moisturising Face Sunscreen Mineral Matte Tinted Coverage Review

I'm glad Suntegrity came out with a newer formula for their tinted sunscreen. Not that I don't love their older version, it's just a little too oily/dewy for some people and this I believe would be a much better option for those who wants something a little more matte.

I'm not saying that this is super matte either, unfortunately for those oily peeps out there, this is just slightly matte-r than the older formula. Check out my video review as below for a closer look.

Dr. Glamogenic Hyaluronic Booster Serum Review

Booster serums is a niche market but fairly popular in the beauty industry as it's known to be really effective when added into your skincare routine. I believe it's because serums like this are very potent in ingredients. They usually keep it simple with one or two main key ingredients to target specifically on one or two skin concerns. So this is not your short cut product or multipurpose product that generally most people love these days. However, if you ever want to take it up a notch, boosters will be the perfect choice.

I was asked to try the Dr.Glamogenic Hyaluronic Booster Serum, I've never heard of them and this will be my first time trying them out. I did a first impression video on them, check it out below before reading my written review after trying them out for a week.

ALTHEA Flawless Creamy Concealer Review

Althea came up with more in house brand makeup! I'm super excited because I believe the team behind these would know what's best in a product since most of them are consumers too. This ALTHEA Flawless Creamy Concealer is one of the 4 new cosmetics they've brought out and you'll see the others (Eyeshadow, Glitter Gel, Lip Cream) on this blog soon.

As always, check out my video below for a better look of the ALTHEA Flawless Creamy Concealer.

Battle Of The Natural Leave On Overnight Mask

You love mask but you hate the waiting time? These overnight mask creams are probably for you. I do love my mask but just like more modern young ladies, I can get lazy. When there's a demand, there's a supply. Whoever invented overnight mask creams are a genius.

Is it extra? Yes, quite extra to add into your already extensive skincare routine. Do I like it? Yes I do, very much actually. Thanks to these babies, I kinda stop sheet masking for almost 2 months straight because I don't really need to use sheet mask anymore when I have this. Lols

Check out my video review of the two natural mask, The Herb Farm Hydrating Overnight Mask and the Trilogy Age-Proof Overnight Mask, as below.

I Got A Gentle Facial With All Natural Products At Skinlab Desa Sri Hartamas

Are your looking for a facial place that uses only natural products?

This is my first time going for a facial that uses only natural products on my face. It's interesting cause this has never really been something on my mind when I go for facial but how many natural facial places have I been so far? One, this one.

For someone who have been to quite a number of facials in my 29 years, this being an all natural skincare facial is really unique. Thankfully, I have already been using products from TNS Skinlab before this and I know very well that their natural products are good and most of the time works for me and my skin type.

If you don't know, TNS Skinlab is sort of a distributor for a number of pretty famous natural New Zealand skincare brands. They pride themselves for their all natural products that they have and will continue to support natural skincare in Malaysia.

Full Face W7 Makeup Review!

W7 has finally arrived in Malaysia! I've heard quite a bit from overseas youtubers talking about them since they seem to be quite a dupe for a number of the more expensive makeups out there. Of course, when they contacted me, I said yes because I want to know what's all the hype about.

Big thanks to W7 Malaysia for sending me all these products for me to try and review. It's truly quite a lot of products thus the GRWM video is really, really long. I tried as many products as I can here.

The New Huda Beauty Nude Eyeshadow Palette Review [Demo + Swatches]

Last Christmas (or more like few days before Christmas), while I was doing some alone time shopping, I decided to drop by Sephora and check out the Huda Beauty Nude Palette as I have been eyeing on this particular eyeshadow palette for the longest time.

As always, you go in, you touch touch, and magically everything sparks joy, you'll walk out with it. I'm no exception. The only unexpected thing was that I thought since it was festive season, they should have some kind of dicount/promo or at least, more freebies. Unfortunately no, apparently all their RM300 and above freebies (the good stuffs) are gone. Thus, I only walk out with this and nothing more. Thank God for self control.

Anyway, here's my review of this wonderful eyeshadow. Check it out below for more visual:

Overall, this didn't disappoint. I really love every colour in this palette. Do note that there are some a bit patchy and dusty, mostly from the darker matte shades but can be layered need a little more care to blend them out. The concealer is not super pigmented but I use it more like a sticky base to stick my shimmer/glitter shadows, not so much to get a sharp cut crease. The shadows last long and just absolutely beautiful. It's expensive for Malaysians, yes, but I still highly recommend it if you actually do use eyeshadows often.
